The Tenets Of Capitalism
[ send me this paper ]
4 pages in length. Democracy has been the driving force behind America's social, political and economic pursuits as a nation since the United States adopted its Constitution; since that time, the concept has been staunchly upheld by a country whose inhabitants believe there is no other way in which a civilized society can exist. When capitalism became a mainstay around the time of the Industrial Revolution, the inextricable relationship between free enterprise and democratic principles was joined forever. To understanding the tenets of capitalism is to understand the fundamental components of what it means to live in a nation whose Constitution endorses unfettered life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The Theory Of Constraints Applied To The Non-Profit Organization
[ send me this paper ]
A 5 page paper applying the conclusions of Eli Goldratt, the father of the theory originally based in manufacturing systems. Eli Goldratt's work in scheduling systems for manufacturing operations brought him to a study of manufacturing bottlenecks, where an otherwise smoothly-flowing system can break down and destroy projected scheduling plans. To this idea he gave the name of Theory Of Constraints (TOC). Goldratt published The Goal, a novel in which manufacturing bottlenecks played a prime role, in the mid 1980s. From that, he developed the idea of TOC and the idea of throughput, a concept that increasingly is used in accounting for the not-for-profit organization. Bibliography lists 4 sources.

The Theory of Constraints versus Activity Based Costing
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages. Compares and contrasts these two theories, their similarities and differences. Much has been written and discussed concerning the comparison of the theory of constraints versus activity based costing. However, the main thing to remember is that the theory of constraints should not be viewed as competing against the activity based costing but should instead be accepted as a complement to the technique. While the theory of constraints is concerned with optimizing throughput, that is, short-term profits, activity based costing is generally concerned with finding the right product mix that will lead to the greatest long-term profits.
