The Post Modern Sky is Falling
[ send me this paper ]
(5 pp) The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
Screamed Chicken Little. It was quite some time
before his friends could reassure him that those
pieces of sky were simply raindrops, which could
be equally useful. The same might be said for
the hoopla concerning post- modernism. According
to Cronk (1996), modernism and post-modernism is
art, which talks about art. When post-modernism
is linked to design, the field of design is
expanded rather than limited. This discussion
will examine that link, look at post-modernism in
relationship to its culture, and review the work
of designer Robert Venturi.

The Relationship Between Art & Politics:
Martin Heidegger and Walter Benjamin.
[ send me this paper ]
(5 pp). When asked in an interview (Kreisler 2000),
what is important about politics, John Tussman
said that, "politics is the art of providing for
the general welfare; and in principle is not
competitive." However the "reality of what is
happening now", according to Tussman is that
politics is about "advantage and power." Although
each person, political or not, has their own sense
of reality, it is connection between art and
politics that we will be examining in this
discussion of two twentieth century philosophers.
