Management in the East and West
[ send me this paper ]
A 10 page paper comparing management approaches in the East and West hemispheres. Management in the East and management in the West has been seen in the past as being two totally different concepts, similar only in the fact that they each are intended to result in effective management of the organization. The trend of globalization has done much to even out many of those differences, however, as has increased attention to transparency in management. Economic difficulties in both the East and West have obliged organizations in each to operate more efficiently, which in turn has led businesses of both origins to be more pragmatic in their operations. The result to date has been that Eastern management is less circumspect than in the past; Western management has begun to acknowledge more than only the bottom line and quarterly results. Management in the East and West has begun to converge into another form that has taken the best of both. Bibliography lists 10 sources.

Management Styles / Comparison Between The U.S. and Japan
[ send me this paper ]
A 5 page paper comparing management styles in Japan and the US. Not until the American public was tired of expensive inferior quality and started turning to the Japanese for increasing numbers of cars each year did American manufacturing take Japan seriously. The management style in the US had been that from the behavior school, with a fair amount of autocracy included. The chasm between labor and management was particularly wide in manufacturing operations, while a healthy labor-management attitude operated in Japan. Bibliography lists 8 sources.

Managing Investments in China’s Reform Climate
[ send me this paper ]
A 6 page research proposal written for inclusion in application to a PhD program. As China continues the transition from a state-controlled to a market economy, how will that transition affect long-standing systems that have been in place for decades, and what effect will it have on China’s long-term growth? Will China need to become increasingly “western” in its approach to financial markets, or will it be able to establish and follow its own course? Which approach would be of greatest benefit to the Chinese people? Bibliography lists 6 sources.

Mao Zedong's Cultural Vision Of China
[ send me this paper ]
3 pages in length. Maoist cultural vision of China was wholly one-sided with regard to gender. When he spoke of revolution, he spoke to men; when he spoke of power of the people, he did not mean women; when he spoke of education, he was not addressing females. Clearly, Mao sought to create a Chinese culture based upon patriarchy, misogyny and autocracy. Bibliography lists 2 sources.

Marketing QUALCOMM’s Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) in China
[ send me this paper ]
This 19 page report discusses QUALCOMM of San Diego,
California, that owns the patents that are essential to virtually
all aspects of the CDMA wireless telecommunications standards
that have been adopted or proposed for adoption by
standards-setting bodies throughout the world. Since China does
not make CDMA technology, U.S. communications and equipment
suppliers such as QUALCOMM are likely to see their sales soar in
China since it is widely agreed-upon that China is the world’s
fastest-growing mobile telephone market. This paper discusses a
number of aspects associated with marketing CDMA in China.

Marketing Trends in Singapore
[ send me this paper ]
An 8 page paper discussing factors of which marketers must be aware when promoting their products and services in Singapore. The same rules of marketing necessary in any other mature economy apply to Singapore as well. The marketing mix, segmentation and knowledge of the customer all are operational.
