Emancipation Proclamation
[ send me this paper ]
An 8 page paper detailing many of the events that took place in the development of the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863. Lincoln was not actually in favor of the federal government becoming involved in the abolishing of slavery. He had hopes that the individual states would make an effort on their own and this would eventually influence the South. After some time this was obviously not to become a reality and he was forced to take a more aggressive action. This action became concrete with the Emancipation Proclamation.
