Africa and Profit From Slave Trade
[ send me this paper ]
A 4 page research paper that discusses whether or not the slave trade was economically beneficial for Africa. The Atlantic slave trade was ongoing for over three hundred and fifty years, profoundly affected the histories of four continents and “constituted history’s largest forced migration,” as over 12 million Africans were transported to various locations in Europe and the Americas (Clark 273). Some historians have argued that while the slave trade was morally wrong, it was economically beneficial to Africa. This examination of literature explores and analyses the validity of this assertion. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

African American Communities/New South
[ send me this paper ]
A 3 page essay that draws on Armstead Robinson's essay "Plans Dat Comed From God," which addresses the question of how newly freed slaves managed the problems of self-support. Among other findings, Robinson's research shows that there was a distinct schism in the black community in Memphis during the Reconstruction era. Robinson maintains that during this time "urban communities developed a split institutional personality," which mirrored emerging social-class distinctions within these communities (73). African American Historical Perspective
[ send me this paper ]
(5 pp) Although, the number of African American
slaves grew slowly at first, by the 1680s they

Britain prohibited its subjects from participating
in the slave trade, between 600,000 and 650,000
Africans had been forcibly transported to North
America. And that was the unfortunate beginning
for African Americans in this country, and
although there are indeed African Americans who
