strive. Bibliography lists 4 sources.

TQM's History and Use
[ send me this paper ]
A 42 page paper discussing Total Quality Management's
history and three primary models: those of Deming, Baldrige and Juran. TQM proved to
be far more than just another management fad, of course. In this new century, quality
initiatives and close attention to customer service issues are crucial for success. A host of
other companies credit TQM with their continued existence, and the lesson has not been
lost on the insurance industry. All organizations in all industries must be focused on their
customers in today's hypercompetitive business environment, and no program facilitates
that customer focus as well as TQM. The paper uses the experiences of Zurich-American
as example in implementing TQM. Bibliography lists 24 sources.

TQM's Role in Survival
[ send me this paper ]
Ford and Firestone Tires: A 7 page paper discussing
how Total Quality Management can be used for survival as well as for greater productivity at
reduced cost. Though there are questions about the Explorer's design, the fact that Goodyear
tires manage to hold together on Ford Explorers points to the greater quality issue being that of
Firestone. Whether Firestone can survive this disaster remains to be seen, but it should serve as a
clarion call to all other manufacturers claiming to operate under the philosophy of TQM. All of
Deming's 14 Points have to be employed in the process, rather than only those convenient for the
company. Bibliography lists 8 sources.

TQM: Brief History And Implementation
[ send me this paper ]
8 pages in length. The business environment has long been in dire need of a bold and comprehensive approach that simultaneously addresses issues of internal and external concern; to tackle problems by solving just one aspect or the other leaves the situation only partially resolved and the organization no better for the unfinished effort. Since the late 1980s, the concept of total quality management (TQM) has been heralded as the overwhelming saving grace for instituting the all-inclusive and wide-ranging elements inherent to a solidly functioning organization whose management understands how issues left unresolved at any point spell trouble throughout the company. Bibliography lists 7 sources.

TQM: Overview And Impact Upon Auto Industry
[ send me this paper ]
12 pages in length. The ever-changing corporate landscape is responsible for the overwhelming need for total quality management (TQM), a concept that has successfully modified faltering organizations and transformed them into thriving companies. Stressing the importance of empowerment, communication and involvement, the tenets of TQM are meant to bring the organization together as a single, unified entity that plays off one another's strengths while at the same time developing those areas that lack cohesion. Bibliography lists 11 sources.
