Ethical Issues in the Business of Private Prisons
[ send me this paper ]
( 10 pp) Whether it is a class assignment, or an
event in the outside world, determining what and
how to deal with any ethical situation is difficult.
First because we question our own perception of
the event - did I really just see that? Did it
really happen? Second, because if we are already
questioning ourselves, we probably are not very
sure about how to proceed, with whatever is to
happen next. Put that kind of thinking into a
business environment, and there is one more piece
to add to the processing mix. Next lets add the
controversy of politics and revenue, and we have
ourselves questioning whether there are ethical
issues in the business of private prisons.

Ethical Issues Of Dumping Banned Products In Other Countries
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Dumping the fire-retardant pajamas in other countries in order to recoup the millions of dollars manufacturers lost when the United States banned their sale was a most unethical approach clearly indicative of how money always eclipse the truly important issue at hand. No matter that children of these countries would not otherwise have access to fire-retardant pajamas, they would also not have had occasion to contract kidney cancer had they not been unduly exposed to the toxic chemical Tris. Justifying that one good (the fire-retardant pajamas) validates a bad (kidney cancer from Tris) is nothing short of unscrupulous business and personal tactics. The same is true of exporting the Dalkon Shield, inasmuch as the handful of serious physiological problems associated with using this product in no way offsets any potential benefit. To allow such blatantly unethical global practices indicates a complete breakdown in the fundamental tenets of social responsibility. Bibliography lists 2 sources.

Ethical Leadership
[ send me this paper ]
A 21 page paper discussing many aspects of leadership and how ethics
applies to them. There has been greater attention toward ethics in business than in past years.
Business has struggled for much of the past generation, and the early years of the 1990s were
marked with such structural and societal changes in business that it was those changes on which
all attention was trained. The long period of economic expansion has allowed business to settle
into its new structures and look beyond the immediate bottom line at other aspects apart from
mere survival. Ethics has been one of those areas, as business seeks to rise to higher levels.
Bibliography lists 17 sources.

Ethical Leadership: Article Comparison
[ send me this paper ]
3 pages in length. The concern over ethics in leadership has existed for centuries, with such notable thinkers as Aristotle and Kant lamenting about the detrimental compromise people make in relation to ethical behavior when overcome by the power of leadership. The extent to which ethics and leadership are inextricably intertwined is both grand and far-reaching; that far too many people in such positions routinely attempt to unravel that intrinsic relationship speaks to the perpetual effort man makes to sidestep his moral obligations. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
