The Importance Of Communication
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Since the dawn of time, communication has been – apart from food, water, clothing and shelter – one of most critical components of man's survival. When a Neanderthal youth threw a rock at his buddy's head and then stomped up and down while screaming like a banshee, there was little doubt as to what he was trying to convey. The progression of time has brought with it a more civilized way of expressing anger, even though throwing things is still a primary manifestation even by today's standards. Without the ability to communicate, people could not make known their needs and desires, interaction as we know it would cease to exist and the planet would inhabit a population of wandering individuals with no association to anyone or anything else. Indeed, communication reflects the core of existence to human beings. One of the most important areas in which communication is critically important is within the business world. That commerce today is tantamount to hunting and gathering during the Stone Age, it stands to reason that if effective communication is not employed, the needs of the company are not likely to be met.
