Other Aspects of the Business Plan
[ send me this paper ]
An 8 page paper discussing common
but little-discussed problems of most business plans, namely a too-optimistic view of
potential financial success with too little regard for the risks associated with new ventures.
The paper proposes that larger organizations appoint a central group that could bring
some standardization to plan development. Another antidote is to quantitatively assess the
discrepancy between forecasts and actual results of other new ventures to gain knowledge
of how successful other plans have been in accurately predicting early results.
Bibliography lists 4 sources.

Outlook for Business Computer Sales
[ send me this paper ]
A 10 page paper discussing how changes
in computing will affect sales to small and medium businesses. Small and medium businesses have
more flexibility in computing choices than ever before, and the industry is not that much different
than was that for stereo equipment a generation ago as large, self-contained systems gave way to
less expensive, better-performing and more versatile components. A prediction of the "new
economy" is that manufacturing increasingly will move to methods of mass customization. The
implication for computer sales to businesses is that the system of any specific business is designed
for its specific needs in storage, capacity and use. Bibliography lists 11 sources.

Outlook for Winnebago Industries
[ send me this paper ]
A 5 page paper discussing financial and stock performance of Winnebago relative to its industry. The US stock market dropped dramatically immediately following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, tripping the already-weak economy into official recession. Because recreational vehicles are considered to be luxury items, it would be reasonable to assume that a company such as Winnebago Industries (NYSE: WGO) would be suffering as well. To date, however, it has not. The paper lists and discusses many of the company’s valuation, growth rates, management effectiveness and profitability ratios, discovering that the company has remained generally undervalued in the past and fiscally conservative during the heady times of the late 1990s. Its ratios are higher than those of the industry; management effectiveness ratios far outstrip that industry. Bibliography lists 6 sources. Includes 1 table.

Outsourcing and its Implications for the Information Technology Sector
[ send me this paper ]
This 50 page paper examines outsourcing and its implications for the information technology sector. The paper then looks at how this should occur in reality an how outsourcing should support, directly or indirectly, any competitive advantages of the company and fit in with the value chain. The paper then looks at a case study which shows how outsourcing can fail when the theories identified in paper are not put into practice. The paper ends with a consultation. The bibliography cites 50 sources.
