Glock Firearms
[ send me this paper ]
4 pages in length. A symbol of excellence among gun enthusiasts, GLOCK firearms has a long and illustrious reputation as one of the finest weapons ever manufactured. Named after its creator, Austrian engineer Gaston Glock, the company began making his namesake in 1963 from the collective properties of steel and plastic, an approach that ultimately led to its entry into military firearms and other wartime paraphernalia, not the least of which included field knives, machine gun belts and practice hand grenades. Bibliography lists 1 source.

Goals Of DUI Task Force
[ send me this paper ]
4 pages in length. From where Jason J. Legg sits, the goal of any DUI task force is simple: "protect the public from drunk drivers and protect drunk drivers from themselves" (Legg, 2007), but then the District Attorney of Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania has experienced more consequences of drunken drivers than the vast majority of people and can make such a condensed answer. Woven into that statement is the objective for people to learn to take responsibility for their actions and not assume they are the only ones on the road who can safely operate a motor vehicle even when they are under the legal limit. Bibliography lists 4 sources.

Governor George Ryan’s Last Minute Commute of Death Sentences in Illinois: The Right of a Wrong or Just One More Aspect of Deeply Rooted Corruption?
[ send me this paper ]
A 9 page overview of the corruption inherent in Ryan’s last minute decision to commute the death sentences of some of Illinois’ most contemptible criminals. The author approaches the death sentence from an ethical standpoint as being in the best interest of society as a whole. Despite the many improprieties which were demonstrated to exist in Illinois’ criminal justice system, Ryan’s decision to commute the death sentence of all death row inmates is inexcusable as he was elected to office by a public whose wishes were to instate and enforce capital punishment. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

Group Homes and Juvenile Delinquency
[ send me this paper ]
A 30 page overview of the problems confronting us in regard to effectively addressing the growing problem of juvenile delinquency. While many interventions have been attempted in addressing this problem, no one solution has been identified. Group homes do offer a potential solution. The past record of group homes, however, is not that complimentary as to their effectiveness. Part of this record lies in the fact that insufficient records have been maintained which can be used as a source for intensive research targeting the delineation of successes verses failures. By reviewing the literature on the various interventions which have proven successful, however, we can potentially redesign the group home environment so that it is more successful in addressing the problem of juvenile delinquency. Bibliography lists 41 sources.

Gun Control / Why There Should be Standardized Laws Regarding the Purchase of Guns Across the United States
[ send me this paper ]
In 8 pages, the author discusses why there should be standardized laws regarding the purchase of guns across the nation. Gun laws from state to state differ considerably. This causes a number of problems. In one state a weapon in a vehicle must be in plain sight, while in another, the weapon must be hidden. Some states have stricter gun laws than other states, which can make it very dangerous for travelers of stricter areas when commuting to those areas that almost everyone is permitted to carry a gun. Because of the discrepancies between state laws, gunrunning, or the illegal transportation of weapons from one state to another, is also a problem. Bibliography lists 12 sources.
