Illiteracy And Juvenile Delinquency
[ send me this paper ]
10 pages in length. The notion that illiteracy is directly associated with the incidence of juvenile delinquency has received significant consideration within the psychological and educational communities. Clearly, if an individual does not possess the ability to read or write, the mere act of obtaining – much less advancing in – a good job is out of reach. Additionally, the basics of life represent the utmost frustration and anger, such as understanding simple directions or being self-motivated, which ultimately leads to a significant sense of failure. Combine that with the social stigma inherently associated with illiteracy, and this creates one considerably maladjusted youth whose inability to read and write breeds hopelessness and juvenile delinquency. Bibliography lists 10 sources.

Imaginary Homicide Crime Scene
[ send me this paper ]
4 pages in length. The call came in to the Arson Investigation Department just after 9 pm Monday evening that: A seventy-year-old woman had been found dead in her home by a suspected explosive device. Upon arrival, the first thing the investigator noted in the overall attempt to recognize, document, collect, preserve and analyze the physical evidence was the distinct post-explosive odor attributed to detonation aftermath. The next door neighbor was immediately at the investigator's side offering details as she knew them, only one of which was of any actual benefit: The fresh, clear print of a man's athletic shoe was identified in the flowerbed just outside the front door. This was a potentially critical piece of information inasmuch as the elderly woman lived alone, had no sons or brothers, and was not seeing anyone. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

Impact of Juvenile Detention Centers
[ send me this paper ]
In 10 pages the author discusses the impact of juvenile detention centers. Although the extent of juvenile justice has changed in many ways, one thing remains constant. That is what to do with juvenile offenders. Juvenile detention centers play an important role in the lives of young criminals. That role can be either a positive one or a negative one. There are both pros and cons to the impact of juvenile detention centers on youths. Although some young people get a mere slap on the wrist for their delinquent/criminal behavior, others can get the death penalty at an early age in some states. Bibliography lists 8 sources.

Impact That Race, Gender And Class Have Upon The Development Of Theoretical Criminology
[ send me this paper ]
6 pages in length. The concept of a rational society – in which the entire community is greatly influenced by principles its members completely and accept without challenge – has indeed proven to be one of the most powerful standards of contemporary culture, with the criminal justice system fighting to maintain its place. Why it is necessary for the element of ethics to exist in theoretical criminology? And what of rationality – is that not merely a reflection of one's own self-interest? Indeed, this notion leads one to presume that the criminal justice system is gravely lacking the ability to monitor itself in relation to race, gender and class as they correlate with establishing and then maintaining standards of conduct conducive to a civilized society. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
