Schools across North America are now realizing the importance of relationships with the community have on the success of the students and the schools within that community. In fact, schools now realize that they cannot “go it alone” without these important relationships if they expect to succeed, attract new students, implement parental participation known to be beneficial to student success, and implement local, regional, state or federal changes within the educational system. While some programs concentrate on local relationships between the schools, families and the community, other networks have been created to increase partnerships between different school and administrative systems, resources and communities in order to facilitate educational change.
