Home School Relations within Head Start
[ send me this paper ]
A 9 page paper discussing the
home-oriented of Head Start. Home school relations and techniques associated with Head Start
obviously benefit children and their families in the short term. Results can be immediate and serve
to reduce the pressures on low-income families, but they also can be long lasting in terms of the
family's learning. Any family can fit into some statistical category, but the situation of each is
unique. The key in providing the family with the greatest level of service during the preschool
years is that of their Head Start worker coming to truly know their circumstances and providing
information geared to their lives. Bibliography lists 10 sources.

Homework & Special Needs Students
[ send me this paper ]
6 pages in length. It has long been recognized that special needs students require an additional set of policies with regard to their learning curriculum if they are incorporated into a regular education classroom. However, teachers have noted that there is hardly a student -- regular or special needs -- who does not require some sort of learning adaptation based upon one's individual learning styles, abilities and requirements. Among these policies is the concept of assigning different homework duties from the rest of the students in order for the special needs child to better understand the required homework and be able to fully execute the lesson. The writer addresses these needs based on empirical studies. Bibliography lists 3 sources.

How Bob Dylan And Wolf Biermann Can Be Employed To Make Students Aware Of Stereotypes And Prejudice In ESL At The Higher Secondary Level Of Education
[ send me this paper ]
9 pages in length. When one hears the word 'prejudice,' the image that immediately comes to mind is that of a racial nature; however, there are myriad other forms of stereotypical attitudes that serve to drive the wedge of intolerance, as well. Language, while not always at an obvious factor, represents one of the most socially dividing of all prejudices, inasmuch as the fundamental essence of verbal communication is steeped with lingual inferences specific to that particular language. When foreigners attempt to learn English, for example, these vernacular nuances all-too-often reflect a bias that can readily be detected in popular culture, such as political singer/songwriters Bob Dylan and Wolf Biermann. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
