The Health Of New Zealanders Is Effected More By Environmental Socioeconomic And Behavioral Factors Than By Provision Of Health Care

To support the assertion that health of New Zealanders is effected more by environmental socioeconomic and behavioral factors than by provision of health care, one needs only look as far as historic climate changes in order to understand why this particular global population fights a constant battle with well-being. Socioeconomic factors that include "high population densities, crowded living conditions, poor-quality housing and poor living standards" (Woodward et al, 2001, pp. 1-20) serve to perpetuate unhealthy behavioral aspects, which in turn are exacerbated by the environmental impact of climate changes, a vicious cycle that precludes many New Zealanders from escaping poor health.
