Article Comparison #1: Koehn & Warren
[ send me this paper ]
3 pages in length. The beginning of the twentieth century was rife with improvements to everyday commodities that up until this time were not considered in need of enhancement; however, Koehn (1999) and Warren (1999) point out how industrialism forced a second look at such products as paint and groceries, and ultimately transformed each industry into one that afforded Americans the convenience factor of less work and more free time. Bibliography lists 2 sources.

Article Comparison #2: Kerwin & Cameron
[ send me this paper ]
3 pages in length. Civilized societies are rarely without a cause of the moment whereby certain populations either need to be eradicated completely or oppressed to the point of no longer being a threat to the sanctity of the parent society. However, it is this alarmist approach that oftentimes borders on the fringe of hysteria that causes one to question just how civilized people are who can so easily condemn with faulty reasoning. Bibliography lists 2 sources.

Article Comparison #3: Kerwin, Culhane Speck & Kelm
[ send me this paper ]
4 pages in length. Culhane Speck (1987) and Kelm (1999) both discuss how the natural selection afforded by widespread disease helped to aid European settlement by helping the white colonists eradicate what they viewed as an impediment to their progression as a race. The omnipotent superiority exuded by the white race, as each writer's passages clearly illustrates, set in motion a chain of events that even if the colonists knew in advance would occur, no preventive measures would have been taken. In effect, the diseases responsible for killing off indigenous peoples proved to be the final straw for these culturally compromised populations who were underfed, overworked and victimized by various abuses. Bibliography lists 3 sources.

Articles of Confederation
[ send me this paper ]
A 3 page research paper that addresses the US Articles of Confederation. Once liberty from Great Britain had been won, the thirteen former colonies that made p the nascent nation were more like thirteen separate countries than a single nation. The first attempt of the new country, the United States of America, to formulate an effective government took the form of the Articles of Confederation. However, the problems of the US under this structure were considerable, so much so that the survival of the new nation was uncertain. The writer outlines the problems and briefly discusses the Constitution. Bibliography lists 3 sources.

Articles of Confederation
[ send me this paper ]
A 3 page research paper that discusses the Articles of Confederation, which constitutes the first attempt by the Founding Fathers of the United States to form the legal foundation for the central government. Ratified in 1781, it was intended to unify the states and define the powers of the Continental Congress. The Articles of Confederation were eventually abandoned because this document was determined to be ineffectual in giving the central government sufficient authority to carry out its mission. However, examination of the Articles shows that they did serve a limited purpose and definitely provided the young country with a learning experience that led to the creation of the current Constitution. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
