Traces the route of the journey providing a chronological account of its progression and numerous quotes from the expedition journals. Contends that while the expedition would prove to be of tremendous benefit to the United States, and indeed be characterized by almost exclusively peaceful interactions to the Native Americans encountered along the way, it would have an underlying agenda of economic gain. The Lifestyle of the Jazz Age as Reflected in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Novels “The Great Gatsby”, “This Side of Paradise” and “Tender is the Night”
[ send me this paper ]
This is a 6 page paper discussing elements of self-involvement, greed, materialism, and immoral behavior in three novels by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Throughout the novels of F. Scott Fitzgerald, readers very much begin to understand the great deal of self-involvement, greed, materialism, and immoral behavior which was prevalent during the 1920s in America and was also a world in which Fitzgerald and his wife were very much involved. While “This Side of Paradise” was published when Fitzgerald was not yet successful, the central character of Amory Blaine comments on how he is sick of a system in which the rich always benefit yet at the same time he does not seem overly convicted but instead would find it easier if he was rich himself. Jay Gatsby in “The Great Gatsby” deceives the rich woman he pursues, Daisy, only to realize that regardless of how wealthy he became, by mainly illegal means, she would always be his superior materially. Similarly, in “Tender is the Night”, Dick Diver wants to become the best psychologist ever and while he marries the women he pursues, who is also his superior in wealth, he later abandons her mentally during her time in need and begins to look elsewhere for love.
Bibliography lists 6 sources.

The Lincoln Assassination / Booth Was Not Alone
[ send me this paper ]
An 8 page research paper supporting the theory that John Wilkes Booth did not work alone when he assassinated President Lincoln. The writer connects Booth to a group of conspirators who planned to assassinate Lincoln, Secretary of State Seward, and even the Vice President. By developing this connection and relating these individuals to interactions with Jefferson Davis, the writer suggests that Booth did not mastermind the assassination plans. Instead, Davis and members of the Southern political climate planned and supported the conspiracy that Booth only enacted. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
