UK Inner City And Its Relationship To Public Policy
[ send me this paper ]
12 pages in length. Inner-city life is no picnic for those who have to endure its ravages. Typically the area of society where a significantly dense population resides, this centralized section of the city is home to considerably more ills than anywhere else. It is often the oldest, poorest and most overly populated, which establishes it as a haven for crime, violence and poverty. The inner cities of the UK are no different than the inner cities anywhere else around the world in that they reflect upon society's lesser privileged. In spite of the fact that many inner city residents are fine, upstanding citizens, they are caught in an endless cycle of economic depression that prevents them from escaping. And so this cycle continues to perpetuate itself to the point that the squalor, crime and broken down living conditions represent a larger segment of society than the surrounding communities dare to admit. The writer discusses how the UK's inner cities influence public policy. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

Violence -- the Seed of Capitalist Democracy in England and
France
[ send me this paper ]
This 7 page report discusses capitalist democracy and
the fact that it is more often seen by the so-called “mainstream”
as the framework through which a market economy is able to
flourish while the rights and privileges associated with
individual liberties are encouraged and supported. The ideas and
ideals of capitalist democracy are also established within the
cultural framework through which the process evolves. In both
England and France, violence served as a key component in the
evolutionary process of capitalist democracy and served to define
its unique applications in equally unique settings. Bibliography
lists 4 sources.

Voting Behavior And Party Competition In Post-Unification Germany
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. The voting behavior has most certainly been on the decline since the unification of Germany; as well, party competition has generated more apathy than interest, which speaks volumes about the significant disillusionment the Germans have felt toward its politicians and political parties in post-unification Germany. This
outright disdain, which ultimately infiltrates society and affects the outermost regions with its diversity, is well chronicled in both Gordon Smith's Developments in German Politics and Jurgen Winkler and Siegfried Schumann's "Radical Right-Wing Parties in Contemporary Germany" in Hans-Georg Betz' The New Politics of the Right : Neo-Populist Parties and Movements in Established Democracies. In determining what guides people to lose or gain interest in the overall political process, opinion
polls are frequently administered as a means by which to test the political climate. Their overall effectiveness, along with their tremendous influence, help to establish exactly where Germany has been in post-unification. No additional sources cited.
