Willy and the American Dream.
[ send me this paper ]
(5pp) This is the American dream, turned nightmare, the story of a simple, flawed man who spends an entire lifetime trying to become the man he sees reflected in his loved ones' eyes. Over fifty years fall away and Miller's work is as fresh as the day it was written, as challenging, as frightening, as thought-provoking and, ultimately, as devastating. It has been said of Miller's text, 'some plays grow with time, some plays define a time. Death of a Salesman does both. ' Bibliography lists 5 sources.

Willy Loman as a Tragic Hero in Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman”
[ send me this paper ]
This is a 5 page paper discussing the concept of Willy Loman as a tragic hero. Arthur Miller’s character Willy Loman in his play “The Death of a Salesman” comes across as a tragic hero. As the tragic hero, Loman is both the bane yet the central axis of his family with whom he is unable to connect and form significant relationships. Loman’s own delusions lead to much of the tragic perception of him as it appears only Willy is unable to see how unrealistic his perceptions of his life and success really are. While Loman eventually commits suicide in a last attempt to provide money which will lead to his son Biff’s success, Loman again becomes the tragic hero as his death does not live up to his original delusions but instead favors his family with “freedom”; something they had all wished for while Loman was alive. Tutorial language is inserted throughout in square brackets to assist in writing. Bibliography lists 7 sources.

Willy Loman: Accidental Infidel
[ send me this paper ]
(8 pp) When an extramarital affair is discovered, often the couple will undergo a crisis. This may not sound surprising. However, this crisis can be the most difficult part of the issue. The 'injured' spouse may feel emotionally abandoned by the other spouse. She or he may feel a loss of her/his image of marriage, of her/his marriage. 'A joint sense of loss as well as the expected guilt and defensiveness.' Recurrent and persistent thoughts about the situation can sometimes interfere with a person's ability to function. Individuals may have difficulty working, taking care of themselves and/or their families, etc. when such grief and reflection plague them. Few of any of these principles apply to the salesman, Willy Loman, or do they? Bibliography lists 5 sources.
