Marx And Weber: Outdated Ideals
[ send me this paper ]
3 pages in length. Marx and Weber provided a number of valuable theories that have helped to guide the human race into the twenty-first century. The extent to which these theories have been instrumental in allowing man to better understand himself and his ultimate progress is both grand and far-reaching; that some of these theories have outgrown their validity speaks to the ever-changing nature of human survival. Bibliography lists 2 sources.

Marx, Economics, and Feminism
[ send me this paper ]
This 9 page report discusses Karl Marx’s fundamental assertion, in the most simple of terms, was that all events are determined by economic forces and how that can be applied to the precepts and discourses of feminism. The connection between feminism, Marxism and capitalism becomes very clear when one considers how both Marxism and feminism are determined to succeed in “revealing the secret of the world” and showing the oppressive nature that “the system” creates for both women and men. Bibliography lists 7 sources.

Marx: Society, Labor And The Individual
[ send me this paper ]
6 pages in length. Karl Marx's 'The Communist Manifesto' speaks directly to the nature of society; with limited interpretation, the reader is able to understand the inherent connection between Marxist theories and the theorist's ideology of a perfect society: one that embraced democracy. However, his dealings with the Soviet Union proved anything but that as what actually occurred. Bibliography lists 3 sources.

Marxist Theory and Contemporary Societal Stratification
[ send me this paper ]
A 5 page of Marxist theory and how that theory pertains to contemporary social stratification. The author of this paper contends that although our contemporary society appears to be evolving toward a society of classes composed of the very rich and the very poor, there continues to exist a definitive middle class. Even when compared to the theories of Max Weber, multidimensional theories of social stratification, our society differs significantly. The reasons for this difference relate to the fact that civil rights in America today are quantum leaps ahead of what they were during the lifetimes of these two men. This is true from both a societal perspective and an economic perspective. The author concludes, however, that Weber’s multidimensional theories of social stratification continue to outweigh the Marxist view of social stratification in terms of applicability to contemporary U.S. society. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

[ send me this paper ]
This 6 page report discusses two of the “founding fathers” of modern sociology and compares and contrasts several of their best known ideas.
