The Proliferation Of Nuclear Weapons In Developing Countries Is A Reality
[ send me this paper ]
10 pages in length. The United States, in fear of losing its imperial status so well documented throughout the twentieth century, is being forced to address the proliferation of nuclear weapons by those in the global community whose reputations are less than trustworthy; for these powerful arms to be in control of such hotheads as Iran, North Korea, Pakistan, Russia and China all trying to possess the manipulative influence inherent to having nuclear weapons, America is rightly concerned over loss of national security. Bibliography lists 10 sources.

The Proposed Income Tax Cut
[ send me this paper ]
The Pros and Cons: 7 pages. When
discussing his proposed income tax cut, President George W. Bush
gets both congratulations and shouts of derision. It seems for
every person who believes in his proposals there is one who does
not, but that is par for the course on Capitol Hill. This paper
will take a look at both sides of this controversial plan in
order to come to an informed conclusion on the topic.

The Pros and Cons of a Flat Tax
[ send me this paper ]
6 pages in length. The flat income tax system proposes to assign a uniform percentage tax from ten to twenty percent for all Americans and remove the current system involving complex deductions, credits and exemptions. Such a system would be expected to boost economic development and encourage savings since the double income taxation system against savings and investment is eliminated. This paper considers both sides of the flat tax issue and whether the flat tax will really be implemented. Interesting arguments on both sides. Bibliography lists 4 sources.

The Pros and Cons of Tax Increases
[ send me this paper ]
This is a 3 page paper discussing the pros and cons of tax increases. Increases in income, payroll and property taxes usually meet with opposition when proposed by government officials. However, in many instances an increase in taxes can in the short and long term benefit those who pay them and those who rely on government funding to live. While in many cases, an increase in tax may be used to pay of local, state or federal deficits, in the case of taxes for benefit systems such as Social Security an increase in payroll tax may be the only option available in order to maintain the program, currently expected to begin an annual deficit in 2018. Other tax increases can be seen to benefit residents in a particular community immediately as in the case of Seattle area residents who have been asked to approve a tax increase to maintain the current park system.

The Pros And Cons Of The Current War With Iraq
[ send me this paper ]
14 pages in length. Analyzing the pros and cons of any war requires one to understand the fundamental nature of coexistence upon a planet where far too many people believe it to be their inherent human rights to oppress and intimidate others. The situation with Iraq has most certainly been building in intensity for quite some time, with President Bush Sr. first having the opportunity to address the same issues that now faced his son's administration decades later. Being that nothing had changed for the better between these two presidencies, with clear indications that things had in fact become significantly worse, the decision to forcibly enact these necessary changes was a long overdue approach to many; to others, however, it only served to reinforce the overwhelming sense of Imperialism that they contend has enveloped America's White House. Bibliography lists 17 sources.

The Public and Political Decision Making
[ send me this paper ]
A 3 page paper which examines to what
extent the public should be involved in political decision making. The paper takes the
middle of the road argument and argues that the public should be allowed to have a say,
but perhaps ultimately a great deal of the decisions should be made by the government in
order to meet the needs of most people. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
