The Minds of Serial Killers and Stanton Samenow’s “Inside theCriminal Mind”
[ send me this paper ]
This 6 page report discusses three high profile
serial murderers -- Angel Maturino Resendez, John Wayne Gacy,
Andrew Cunanan -- based on articles about them in Time and
Newsweek. For the most part, people are fascinated by the
stories of serial killers because it is so difficult to believe
that such murderers could live undetected in a community for such
long periods of time. Dr. Samenow explains that there is little
that can truly be understood about why a killer does what he does
because he has a “fundamentally different view of the world.”
The point Samenow wants to make is that what is truly important
is to know “how” a criminal thinks so that society may find the
ways in which it can better protect itself. Bibliography lists 4
sources.
