Psychology of Love v. Hate
[ send me this paper ]
A 3 page research paper that discusses love and hate. The words “love” and “hate” are used rather carelessly in popular culture and each has a broad meaning. Within the lexicon of psychology, love is “experienced as a perception of reality” and it is intrinsically tied to motivation, and “encourages healthy growth” (Clough, 2006, p. 23). Hate, conversely, appears to have its origin in factors that inhibit positive emotional, cognitive and physical growth (Gilligan, 2003). An examination of the psychology of love and hate shows that these two factors are inextricably linked in that an absence of love seems to inevitably lead to the poisoned personality constructs of people who hate. Repressed Memories / True Or False?
[ send me this paper ]
A 12 page paper that explores the controversy of repressed memories and the recalled memory therapy that brings repressed memory to the conscious mind. Thousands of cases of adults 'recalling' traumatic events, usually sexual abuse as children have been brought to light in the past decade. Did the abuse really happen or is it a figment of the adult's mind fostered by incompetent therapists? This is the core of the controversy. Case studies and other research reports both for and against the issue of repressed memory are discussed. The writer concludes by supporting one side and justifies that decision. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
