Maslow and Mayo Impact on Workplace Consortiums
[ send me this paper ]
for if Defining a support program for an entire staff can be difficult since everyone is different and responds to different motivators. It falls on management to solve the issue of job satisfaction (hiring and employee retention). In recent years, large support has been given to a combination of approaches due to current research, and the larger share has evolved from two theorists, Abraham Maslow and his Hierarchy of Needs and Elton Mayo’s results from the Hawthorne experiments at Western Electric. Mediation and Diverse Populations
[ send me this paper ]
This 15 page report discusses
the concepts associated with mediation processes and discusses
the ways in which cultural, social, and personal biases can have
a significant impact on the successfulness of the outcomes
reached through mediation. Mediation has become an effective and
beneficial means of dispute settlement in a number of
circumstances. The mediator creates a safe and encouraging
environment for deliberation, fostering new ideas, shuttling
settlement options back and forth and focusing attention on
feasible solutions. The process is not only cheaper than
litigation but more geared to fixing what is broken. The most
important thing to understand is the fact that in the vast
majority of situations the potential drawbacks of mediation are
few while the benefits are many. However, cultural considerations
must be seen as extremely important in the overall establishment
of a successful mediation program. Bibliography lists 12
sources.

Men and Women Relationships: Inequality in Marriage
[ send me this paper ]
This is an 8 page paper discussing the relationships between men and women and the existence of inequality within marriage. The increasing role of women in the workplace often leads to disparity and inequality within marriages which is more obvious today as in the past because inequality still exists when both spouses are working. The traditional roles of women responsible for domestic tasks and child care while men were responsible for primarily working outside of the home were largely accepted well into the 20th century. However, within the last several decades, women are almost as equally represented in the work force as men but despite this, most studies on equality within marriages still report that women have a disproportionate share of the domestic tasks and child care responsibilities in addition to their professional career. What is surprising most of all from these findings is that the majority of couples surveyed still report that equality within a marriage is important even though their practices do not reflect this belief. Tutorial language appears throughout in square brackets to assist in research writing.

Mental Health Parity Act: Interplay of Policy, Cultural And Societal Attitudes Within Clinical Social Work Practice
[ send me this paper ]
16 pages in length. To discount mental health as playing an integral role within the scope of holistic wellbeing is akin to believing living beings could survive without sunlight. The mind and body work in the same synergistic fashion as the sun and moon; failure to maintain each aspect to its optimum level inherently impacts the other to the point where the system as a whole fails to operate. Insurance companies have historically ignored this alliance between body and mind in the quest to avoid providing coverage for mental illness; only when they were mandated to recognize this critical connection as spelled out in the Mental Health Parity Act of 1996 did they finally extend the same treatment options to those with mental illnesses as they always had to those with physical ailments. Moreover, the Act also compelled insurance providers to take into consideration the extent to which cultural and social origins played a role in the onset and continuing presence of a mental health issue.
