In Favor of Same-Sex marriage
[ send me this paper ]
( 5 pp.) This discussion will look at the
emotionally charged issue of homosexual marriage.
It is this writer's opinion that this has become
a social "non-problem," and should be treated as
such. In a dynamic and vital society, there are
many more issues of concern that lead to the
growth of a health society and the potential of
human development, rather than quibbling about
ones choice of sexual partners. Bibliography lists
3 sources.

Influences on Female Juvenile Delinquency
[ send me this paper ]
Female juvenile delinquency is on the increase. This paper looks at female friendships in order to understand some of the influencing factors. First, the issue of gang membership and the reasons for membership that leads to crime is examined. This indicates that peer pressure is a string influence. The paper then looks at a study undertaken that supports the hypothesis that peer pressure is perceived as higher in delinquent females when compared to non delinquent females. The same study also indicated the quality of friendships was not significantly different but communication was lower in the delinquent females. The bibliography cites 7 sources.

Intelligence Testing Among Inmates
[ send me this paper ]
12 pages in length. There are a number of social and environmental factors that encourage delinquency; one in particular, however, that has received significant study is considered more than the rest: decreased intelligence. Research has shown that an individual whose intelligence level is below average can display myriad socially unacceptable behaviors. It can readily be argued, however, that a significant number of perpetrators engage in some form of delinquency at some time during their formative youth without the added burden of compromised intelligence; in this particular case, motivation for such behavior is often placed upon an unstable home life or other social factors. The prevalence of intelligence testing within the penal system has attempted to illustrated the correlation between lower aptitude and criminal activity, providing a springboard upon which further study continues to occur. Bibliography lists 12 sources.
