Why Tacoma Was Not Selected As State Capital
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Tacoma, Washington, was not chosen to represent the state as its capital for the same reasons other similar cities were overlooked as well: Olympia proved to be a more beneficial location for such an important appointment. Granted, there are myriad variables that come into play when the location of a state’s capital is being evaluated, but there is always more than just a handful of deciding – albeit sometimes inconsequential factors – that ultimately determine the best place for state government to reside. The writer discusses various reasons why Tacoma may not have been the best choice for Washington’s state capital. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

Wood Construction for the Fire Service
[ send me this paper ]
This is a 5 page paper discussing considerations of wood construction for the fire service. Fire service and assessment regarding the fire safety of any structure is considered a key component to establishing appropriate fire regulations. The many factors which are considered include fire hazards within the buildings, the number of people inhabiting the buildings at any given time, means of fire escape, fire containment, emergency facilities, alarm systems and the fire equipment available within any region (Wong, 2003). A main component in regards to fire hazard assessment of a structure is the type of construction materials used and the type of construction. One of the most common materials used in the construction of almost any structure is wood, a highly combustible material. Despite the combustibility of wood however, it can be positively used in construction when properly treated and properly applied with consideration of the fire hazards present within the building and in the environment.
Bibliography lists 5 sources.
