Plath & Wharton/Society’s Expectations for Women
[ send me this paper ]
A 10 page research paper/essay that closely examines Wharton’s protagonist in The House of Mirth, Lily Bart, and Plath’s heroine in The Bell Jar, Esther Greenwood. The writer argues that there are sharp contrasts between these protagonists that suggest that Plath’s portrayal of Esther’s adaptation to the forces of society over which she has no control is fundamentally healthier than the way in which Wharton’s heroine reacts to these same patriarchal and materialistic forces. However, this examination also shows that ultimately, the effects on the two women’s lives are very much the same. Bibliography lists 10 sources.

Policy Analysis Of Battered Women
[ send me this paper ]
20 pages in length. The extent to which the prevalence of battered women has reached its apex is both grand and far-reaching; that legislation exists to address this perpetual behavior speaks to the regularity this social ill persists. While all states experience much the same occurrence of battered women, as well as their respective legislation to deal with its frequency, Michigan has historically been slow to reach the same levels of protective legislation as other states around the country. Therefore, this paper will recognize the incidence of battered women both nationally and from Michigan's narrower perspective, as well as address the improvements Michigan's legislative policy has made over the recent past. Bibliography lists 12 sources.
