Feminist Ideology and Judaism
[ send me this paper ]
A 6 page discussion of the feminist movement in Judaism. Distinguishes between the more traditional Orthodox Jews and the more liberal branches and contends that the inequality which has traditionally existed between men and women has lessened but that even today the woman is regarding as having a definite societal place which differs from that of the man. Notes Jewish doctrine in regard to contemporary women's issues such as vary considerably even within the more progressive countries such as the United States. Addresses whether feminism is good for Judaism overall and, in contrast, the role that Orthodox Judaism has in a modern world. Concludes that the answer to these questions is an answer which will be derived not by men but by women working as equals to men in what was once a male dominated tradition. A 10 page paper discussing Jane
Addams' feminist and social ethics. Founder of Chicago's Hull House and outspoken

Feminist Theology
[ send me this paper ]
A 12 page research paper/essay that contrasts and compares Lisa Isherwood and Dorothea McEwan's Introducing Feminist Theology (2001) and Mary Kassian's The Feminist Gospel (1992). The writer argues that these texts offer two very different views of feminist theology. Kassian refers to this difference in her introduction when she states that "Biblical feminist believe that the Bible is properly interpreted as supporting the central tenets of feminist philosophy" (1992, p. 7). However, unlike "liberal religious feminists," Kassian maintains that "Biblical feminists" reject any "radical revision of the Scripture and the alteration of core Christian doctrine such as salvation and redemption" (1992, p. 7). This, in a nutshell, sums up the major philosophical difference between these two texts. As Isherwood and McEwan are two of the "liberal" religious feminists that Kassian dismisses out of hand. Examination of these texts and authors shows that, while they are in agreement that women are equal with men in the sight of God, they disagree about practically everything else. Feminist Therapy And Postmodern Approach
[ send me this paper ]
4 pages in length. One of the most prominent issues pertaining to the notion of feminist therapy and postmodern approach is how this particular population is routinely intermixed with other multicultural subgroups that do not "conform their lives to the truths and reality of the dominant society of which they are a part" (Corey, 2004, p. 410). Consequently, it has been necessary to establish an entirely separate approach to addressing the unique components of feminist therapy so as to underscore the combined aspects of gender and power.
